Advocacy work

 

A culturally vibrant, attractive and safe nightlife does not arise in a vacuum, but requires cooperation between all actors in urban environments. Grassroots actors create the cultural identity of a city and make it attractive. In addition, night time in the city also highlights unwanted phenomena, such as discrimination, harassment, violence, mental health problems and loneliness. grassroots action alone cannot address these problems comprehensively, it also requires decision-making and legislation.

Nighshift Finland builds bridges between the grassroots and decision-makers to tackle these issues. We work with urban night-time actors and work in collaboration with cultural and subcultural actors, NGO's, companies, authorities and decision-makers
