Night studies is a recognized multidisciplinary field of urban research that draws on methodologies and theories from cultural studies, design research, social sciences, geography, environmental science, and engineering. Nightshift Finland offers expertise in this field of research and collaborates with research and development organizations in Finland as well as internationally.

We collect and share information on phenomena and research related to the nocturnal development of urban areas and participate in public debate, emphasizing a perspective based on research. We keep our eyes closely on the present phenomena and the possible future scenarios, which requires taking into account sustainable development and technological change in particular.
